The TX-1 was designed to capture the elusive magic of a tube amplifier pushed into saturation. Built around a real preamp tube and transformer, powered at full wall voltage, the TX-1 responds and feels like the heart of a vintage amplifier in motion.
The concept began when George set out to recreate the sound of an amplifier working in its sweet spot — not necessarily overdriven, but alive with clarity and depth. That crystalline tone, where notes ring like struck bells and chords breathe with dimension, only occurs when an amp is operating exactly as it was designed to. The TX-1 was built to deliver that same experience at any volume, distilled into a meticulously crafted pedal.
Every unit is hand made and hand wired in the USA, using only the highest-quality components. The TX-1 is crafted as a collector-grade instrument — designed to stand the test of time and built for players who demand authenticity in both tone and construction.

There are few pieces of gear that become essential upon use, this is one of those rare gems. The level of quality coming out of Scholz products set the bar very high when compared to most. This particular pedal has the rare ability to make every amp it is plugged into sound like a much better piece of equipment, It literally has become an essential part of my kit even when I’m using back line equipment at out of town gigs.
The way my guitar cuts through the mix of a loud band or the way it sounds when my amp is at a low volume when I’m practicing at home, while maintaining such amazing sound fidelity is on a very high level of quality .
I more than recommend this pedal, only downside is that once you hear it you won’t want to play without it
This pedal does exactly what Scholz says it does. It makes an amp playing at reasonable levels sound like it is at the sweet spot where the voice starts to sing. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if this pedal becomes renowned, impossible to get, and incredibly expensive one day, because it does something special and musical that great players will rely on.
